Unite Member Update – (COVID-19) – British Airways – 1st April

We appreciate members are keen to receive an update in relation to the ongoing talks aimed at protecting members earnings and preserving jobs. We can report that progress was made earlier today with an agreement reached in principle. The document was then scrutinised by each side’s legal team, before being reviewed by the British Airways board.

Disappointingly, the wording of the agreement was returned to us significantly altered. Unite is unable to accept the amended wording and will not agree to a deal that is not right for our members. 

Again, this evening we ask that you remain patient as talks reconvene tomorrow. Be assured that everything possible is being done to secure the best possible outcome.
